I love going to the beach, reading great books, spending time with friends, watching fun movies, and traveling to new places. My passion for nutrition and fitness has always been present, but it took me awhile to turn it into a business. A lawyer proud of my professional accomplishments, I realized a few years ago that I’m much more passionate about helping real people develop realistic health and wellness goals (and even more excited when they surpass them).

In 2016, I became a certified nutrition coach. The pride I felt when I received my certificate was about as strong as when I married my amazing husband, gave birth to my two beautiful girls, and received my law degree.

Why did I start Real Life Nutrition?

I started Real Life Nutrition with a mission—to help real people achieve real results and hold onto them permanently. For years I was a chronic dieter and it was absolutely no fun. The word “diet” does have the word “die” in it, after all. I tried various well-known programs over the years and while I had success with them, it was always short-term and the weight always came back. I know now that it is because I didn’t learn how to eat in a way that was enjoyable to me and would help me get the results I desperately wanted. Now, as a certified nutritionist, I know I’m not the only one out there like that. There are countless numbers of us who have gone through that cycle over and over (and over) again. I want to help people realize there is a better, easier, and more wholesome way to lose weight and get healthy: by getting Real!

Dieting vs. Nutrition: What’s the difference?

If you are like me, you’re probably under the assumption that you can exercise your way to being fit and trim. Before I started my health journey, I was training for a half marathon. My youngest daughter was six-months old and I wanted to shed the baby weight. I’d been in training for over a month and had not lost a pound. Not one! Then I was introduced to a program that was different from the others I had tried in the past. It was based on nutrition and proper balance rather than calorie restriction or a “can’t-eat-that” mentality. I tried it and it worked! I dropped fifteen-pounds and two-sizes and haven’t looked back since.
